چکیده

Objective: A review of the medical literature was undertaken to determine cause, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and prevention of injuries resulting from birth trauma. The primary focus was the neonate, though infant, child and adult were also considered because the effects of birth trauma can be life-long. Data Source: A compilation of case studies and re view articles were extracted from numerous "MED LINE" literature searches. Key Terms included: Birth Trauma, Central Nervous System Injuries, Musculo skeletal Injuries, Stillbirth, Sudden Infant Death Syn drome (SIDS), Cerebral Palsy, Brachial Plexus Palsies (Erb's and Klumpke's), Neonatal-Infantile Respiratory Distress, Obstetric Accidents (Forceps, Vacuum Cup and Cesarean Deliveries), Subluxation, Chiropractic Treatment. American, British, Danish and German studies were included to show the universality of the problem. Study Selection: Findings were selected on the basis of a clear connection between birth trauma and the resulting symptoms, syndromes and/or death.

Case Report: Combination Therapy with Mesenchymal Stem Cells and Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor in a Case of Spinal Cord Injury

Introduction: Various neuroregenerative procedures have been recently employed along with neurorehabilitation programs to promote neurological function after Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), and recently most of them have focused on the acute stage of spinal cord injury. In this report, we present a case of acute SCI treated with neuroprotective treatments in conjunction with conventional reha...

Addressing Neuroplastic Changes in Distributed Areas of the Nervous System Associated With Chronic Musculoskeletal Disorders.

Present interventions utilized in musculoskeletal rehabilitation are guided, in large part, by a biomedical model where peripheral structural injury is believed to be the sole driver of the disorder. There are, however, neurophysiological changes across different areas of the peripheral and central nervous systems, including peripheral receptors, dorsal horn of the spinal cord, brain stem, sens...

P144: Therapeutic Application of Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Spinal Cord Injury Treatment

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a neurologic disorder that have a significant impact on quality of life, life expectancy, and economic burden. SCI leads to irreversible neuronal loss and ultimately leads to paralysis. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a promising source for cellular therapy because they have possessed the capacity of self-renewal and differentiation to several distinct mesenchymal ...
